SERVICE ENGINEER

Salary: £32,500 – £38,000 DOE

Location: Field Based, Head Office Nr Taunton

Contract: Full time (45 hours per week)

Hours: Core hours Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm + Overtime (around 1 in 5 weeks)

As a Service Engineer, you will work independently to complete planned and reactive maintenance, commissioning and refurbishment across a range of wastewater and clean water systems. You’ll be engaging directly with clients on-site and helping ensure vital systems are operating safely and efficiently.

Systems you may work on include:
Pumping stations, sewage treatment plants, septic tanks, potable water systems, rainwater harvesting units.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with clients and providing clear, timely updates
  • Installing, maintaining and fault-finding on sewage treatment systems
  • Diagnosing faults and recommending corrective actions
  • Collaborating with fellow engineers and departments
  • Carrying out system checks including field tests, smoke testing and sampling
  • Completing documentation to a high standard
  • Travelling to customer sites (some overnight stays may be required)

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar Service Engineer role (ideally water but Mechanical and Electrical backgrounds also considered)
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • A proactive communicator with a customer-focused mindset
  • Able to work independently and troubleshoot on the spot
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks
  • A willingness to learn new areas such as waste water etc.

Desirable

  • Background in sewage, wastewater, or water treatment systems
  • Basic electrical understanding
  • CSCS card or confined space ticket

Van, uniform and PPE provided.
