New STP Commissioned at a Busy Somerset Restaurant
Lopen Raj restaurant in South Petherton needed a replacement sewage treatment system commissioned to current EA permit standards. WCI Service Engineers handled installation, EA liaison and commissioning in full.
Summary
- WPL HiPAF HPC 5 R submerged aeration filtration system installed and commissioned
- EA liaison and Building Control application managed by WCI
- Annual WCI service contract in place post-commissioning
Overview
Lopen Raj, an authentic family-owned Thai and Indian restaurant in South Petherton, needed its failing sewage treatment system replaced to meet current EA permit standards. WCI managed the full process from installation to commissioning.
The Challenge
The existing system was not fit for purpose and no longer meeting EA permit discharge criteria. A replacement needed to serve a busy commercial kitchen with high FOG loading and be commissioned correctly from the outset.
The WCI Solution
WCI installed a new WPL HiPAF HPC 5 R submerged aeration filtration system, managed all EA liaison and submitted the Building Control application. The existing plant was broken up, backfilled and made safe. The new system was commissioned by a WCI British Water accredited Service Engineer.
The Outcome
Lopen Raj operates with a fully compliant treatment system under an annual WCI service contract.
