How WCI Supports You
For all of our roles, once you've successfully completed your probationary period, you'll have access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, financial security, and work-life balance.
Health & Wellbeing
WCI provides a fully-paid Health Cash Plan through WPA, giving you cashback on everyday health costs including dental check-ups, optical care, physiotherapy, and more – at no cost to you.
Financial Security:
WCI wants you and your family to feel protected. The Death in Service benefit provides life insurance cover worth three times your annual salary, offering valuable peace of mind for you and your loved ones.
Pension:
You’ll be enrolled into WCI’s workplace pension scheme with an employer contribution of 3%. You’ll contribute 5%, and together that’s a meaningful investment in your future. You can opt out if you prefer, though taking advantage of employer contributions is well worth considering – it’s essentially extra pay.
Holiday & Flexibility:
WCI’s Holiday Trading Scheme lets you buy or sell annual leave up to a total of 27 days, plus statutory bank holidays. Holiday trading gives you real flexibility to shape your time off around what matters most – whether that’s extra holidays for travel and family, or additional earnings when you want them.
Performance Bonus:
You’ll also be eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, with typical awards in the range of 3–5% of salary. It’s WCI’s way of recognising and sharing success when the business and its people deliver.
Our Culture, Growth & Reputation
Since 1983, WCI Group has grown into four specialist divisions: Consulting Engineers, Wastewater Engineers, Service Engineers and Nutrient Neutrality
Trusted across Somerset and the wider Southwest. We look after 1,560+ assets under maintenance with a 97% client renewal rate, built on decades of getting the work right, not just winning it once.
We invest in the people who make that possible: structured career pathways, hands-on training, and genuine room to grow into senior roles. It’s still a business where everyone knows your name – because we’ve never wanted to be big enough that we don’t.
If that sounds like the kind of place you want to build a career, get in touch directly, or via our recruitment partner, Elite Staffing Solutions.
The People of WCI
Snippets from our team about what makes WCI Group a great place to work with passionate people.
Junior Project Manager, Tom
“I didn’t join WCI thinking I’d end up in project management. I started as operations assistant, and if you’d asked me back then, I wouldn’t have guessed this is where I’d land.
When I said I was interested in project delivery, people helped me figure out how to get there.
Being a Junior Project Manager now means I get to see a project properly, from planning right through to delivery – exactly the kind of variety I didn’t know I wanted when I started.
If you’re not sure exactly where you want to end up, that’s alright. There’s room to figure it out here.”
Customer Relationship Admin, Karen
“I speak to a real mix of people in this role – land agents, developers, homeowners, planning consultants – and no two conversations are the same. I like that. You learn something about how different people see the same piece of land, and it keeps the job interesting.
There’s a strong social side to working here too, it doesn’t feel like a big, faceless company, more like a team that actually knows each other.
But what I value most is knowing the work has a real, local impact. Nutrient Neutrality isn’t an abstract idea to me, it’s protecting rivers and land in this region, for people who live here. Being part of that, even from behind a desk, means something.”
Head of Marketing, Amber
“No two days look the same in this job. One morning I’m writing site content, and by the afternoon I’m deep in a campaign or building case studies for Consulting. Four divisions means four different audiences, and I’m genuinely learning something new about the industry most weeks.
What’s struck me most is the agility. If something isn’t working, we change it – there’s no six-month approval chain to get through, which means the work I do actually gets used rather than sitting in a drawer.
And it’s the people, there’s a genuine passion for getting things right here. That’s contagious, and it has made this one of the most interesting & rewarding roles I’ve had.”
