Options Appraisal for Foul Drainage at Four New-Build Properties

Overview

A developer planning four new residential properties at The Orles needed a clear options appraisal for foul drainage before committing to a scheme. Individual systems and a shared solution each carried different regulatory requirements, maintenance obligations and cost implications – and the developer needed to understand all of them before deciding.

The Challenge

Both options required Natural Resources Wales registration and Land Drainage Consent for the discharge pipe to the watercourse. The developer needed the differences in regulatory requirements, maintenance obligations and long-term cost set out clearly before any design work could begin.
