End-to-End Nutrient Neutrality Delivers Planning Approval for a 66-Bed Care Home

A 66-bed care home in Taunton needed both a NNAMS and phosphate credits to unlock planning consent. WCI Nutrient Neutrality provided both – and planning was approved in March 2025.

Overview

A 66-bed care home in Taunton required full nutrient neutrality within the River Tone catchment before planning consent could be granted. WCI Nutrient Neutrality provided both the technical assessment and the credits – all under one roof.

The Challenge

The development required a NNAMS to quantify its phosphate impact and a corresponding volume of credits to offset that impact. Coordinating these between separate organisations introduces delay and risk.

The WCI Solution

The WCI Nutrient Neutrality team prepared the full NNAMS and supplied 4.90 kg of phosphate credits to offset the impact in full, with flexible terms and competitive pricing.

The Outcome

Planning approval was granted in March 2025. With a single point of contact for assessment and mitigation, the risk of delays from coordination between separate consultants was eliminated.
