Overview

The owners of a five-bedroom house in the River Parrett catchment registered for the WCI Nutrient Neutrality free upgrade scheme wanting to modernise their treatment plant and contribute to phosphate reduction. The project required creative access solutions.

The Challenge

The existing 12PE VSM plant was oversized for a property no longer operating as a bed and breakfast. The rear garden required a grab lorry to lift machinery over a wall, with concrete stockpiled in a narrow gateway – all during one of the wettest weeks of the year.

The WCI Solution

The original plant was decommissioned and backfilled, 100 patio slabs and raised flower beds carefully removed, and the new GRAF 7PE one2clean installed and surrounded in concrete with a discreetly sited blower kiosk. All patio slabs were replaced and the garden fully reinstated.

The Outcome

1.01 kg TP per year phosphate reduction confirmed at a follow-up visit.

Just a brilliant company to deal with from start to finish and even beyond that. Experts in a technical field who are also human are a rarity. Highly recommend them.
