Overview
Before Chelston Park nursing home committed to a major capital investment in a new sewage treatment plant, WCI Water & Wastewater Engineers carried out a comprehensive drainage audit – ensuring the right solution was selected for a growing business.
The Challenge
The failing system had breached its EA permit. Rather than a reactive replacement, WCI undertook a thorough audit to understand what was working, what wasn’t, and what the right long-term solution looked like for a business planning to grow.
The WCI Solution
WCI completed CCTV investigation of all drainage, dye testing of surface water drains to check for cross-connections, a flows and loads review, and a full cost-benefit comparison of mains sewer connection versus private treatment options with and without existing reed beds.
The Outcome
The audit provided the evidence base for a well-informed capital investment decision. The 267PE GRAF STP selected has performed within its EA permit since installation.
