Overview
Down Farm had been unsellable for two years because of its failing drainage. WCI Water & Wastewater Engineers solved it – with an installation that required lifting a small excavator over a garden wall and routing the rising main through a historic piggery yard with a slurry pit in the middle.
The Challenge
The rear garden was inaccessible except by lifting machinery over a garage from the road. The only viable route for the rising main passed directly through the working piggery yard.
The WCI Solution
A WPL DMS2 STP with separate pump chamber was installed under the tarmac driveway. A small excavator was lifted over the garage wall by hiab from the road, enabling the soakaway to be installed in the otherwise inaccessible garden. The rising main was routed through the piggery, under a garden wall and to the STP.
The Outcome
Down Farm was saleable after two years. The system is compliant with current Building Control and EA regulations.
