About Us
WCI is a privately-owned business offering civil engineering design, construction and maintenance services to domestic, commercial and public-sector clients. With over 40 years experience, WCI has grown from roots in the installation of private wastewater treatment systems to now providing end-to-end solutions across a range of water, wastewater and civil engineering sectors.
OUR MISSION
At WCI, our mission is to provide innovative, high-quality water and wastewater engineering solutions that address the unique challenges of our clients in the domestic, commercial, and public sectors.
We are committed to delivering efficient, environmentally responsible, and fully integrated services—from design and construction to maintenance – that enhance water quality, protect the environment, and support the communities we serve. With over 40 years of experience, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile, ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional technical expertise, creativity, compliance, and cost-effective engineering. Our goal is to consistently exceed expectations by offering tailored, end-to-end solutions that make a lasting impact.
OUR BUSINESS
Our business comprises two core Consulting Engineering and Water & Wastewater Engineers divisions. Our structure ensures that our designs are grounded in reality with a strong focus on ‘buildability’ and ‘total life’ sustainability, while our construction and maintenance activities are built on true technical standards and methodologies.
More recently, we have launched a third ‘Nutrient Neutrality’ division to supply phosphate and nutrient offset credits to the UK development market. WCI Nutrient Neutrality leverages our wastewater heritage and client portfolio against our highly regarded expertise in foul drainage design and planning.
Whatever your needs, we take a partnership approach to all our work. Our clients like us because we make their problems ours. We work with the regulators and don’t cut corners. We are approved installers for a wide range of manufacturers and retained by many as valued consultants to help improve their products. And we are passionate about our work. Call us and see for yourself why WCI stands out from the crowd.
OUR CAUSES
We believe in doing our part to improve water quality and protect local rivers, habitats and wildlife. Our efforts are focused on making a meaningful impact, both globally and locally, through partnerships with organisations dedicated to water and environmental sustainability.
Water Aid: Supporting Global Sanitation
Each year, we proudly donate to WaterAid, an organisation dedicated to providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions to communities in need around the world.
As part of this commitment, all our office toilets are twinned with toilets in developing countries via Toilet Twinning.org. This initiative helps fund the construction of secure sanitation facilities, improving health and hygiene for those without access to proper sanitation.
West Country Rivers Trust: Protecting Our Local Waterways
We’re passionate about preserving the freshwater environments of our local area. That’s why we support the West Country Rivers Trust through their Westcountry Citizen Science Investigations team and at least one Freshwater Action Day, where we help restore rivers by removing rubbish and invasive species.
As citizen scientists, actively participating in long-term river health monitoring. By sampling and recording changes in the river’s ecosystem, we help build a detailed picture of its health over time. This data is critical for identifying degraded water bodies and responding swiftly to pollution events.
Local Community Engagement
Our commitment to making a difference extends beyond rivers. We’re always ready to roll up our sleeves and contribute to community projects. From painting fences at the local lido to participating in the annual Wiveliscombe litter pick, we’re passionate about lending a hand. We’re also proud to be regular supporters of the annual Wiveliscombe Flower Show helping erect the large marquees every year.
We’re not just about water—we’re about creating a positive impact, wherever we can.
