Your Role

You will work on a diverse range of projects that span the exciting fields of SuDS, drainage network design, flood risk assessment, water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, and nutrient neutrality. From feasibility studies to technical design and construction-phase project management, you’ll have the opportunity to shape every stage of the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Project Leadership: Take a lead role in managing and overseeing water-related projects, ensuring their successful planning, execution, and completion.
  • Design and Analysis: Develop and review design plans, specifications, and technical drawings for water infrastructure projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance and technical support in all aspects of civil engineering related to water solutions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance with engineering principles, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Project Management: Effectively manage project schedules, budgets, and resources. Monitor progress, identify and mitigate risks, and address any issues or challenges that arise during the course of the project.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination and integration of water solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support their professional development.

About You

  • A degree-qualified civil engineer, chartered or working towards chartership.
  • A minimum of 5 years of design project experience would be preferred.
  • Proven experience within the water industry, focusing on SUDs or wastewater-related projects, and ideally possessing knowledge of network design, pumping station design, or wastewater treatment.
  • The ability to scope out projects from client briefs, define appropriate timescales and budgets, and successfully deliver them. Being hands-on, including draughting and modelling, while collaborating with team members to leverage a wide range of skills is highly desirable.
  • A passion for rolling up your sleeves and delivering real-world, buildable solutions, combined with strong numeracy, analytical, and communication skills.
