We were called by our client about concerns that his sewage treatment system was not operating as it should and the discharge did not look clear.
A free of charge pre-service inspection was conducted to evaluate the works required on a Biodisc BA sewage treatment plant to get it back up and working to manufacturers’ standards.
The treatment plant was found to be operational but requiring some TLC from our experienced service engineers.
– The sludge level was high and the ammonia > 50 mg/l.
– The filter packs had sustained some damage and were running asymmetrically
– The belt was badly worn and the PTFE bearings had excess play in them.
A two-man confined spaces entry team, complete with lifting equipment were scheduled to rectify the system.
- The system was emptied and cleaned ready for the proposed work.
- The lifting gantry was erected and the following replaced
- New filter packs, U bolt fixings, set of PTFE bearings, drive belt and sprockets
The old filter packs were jetted clean and disposed of using a licenced waste carrier.
Finally, the system was checked post rectification to ensure all was working as expected and the system placed on an annual service contract. One happy customer, one compliant and functioning system and another good day’s work for the service team!
