Installation of a new sewage treatment plant under a tarmacked driveway

Under our free upgrade scheme we were instructed to update an outdated septic tank for a 5-bedroom detached home. This project was going to be a bit special since the existing tank was tucked under a tarmac driveway, which required some careful excavation. To make things more interesting, the neighbouring property’s utility lines ran right through the site.

After an initial survey, our engineers recommended a GRAF 7PE one2clean sewage treatment plant, complete with a raised outlet, so it could be installed right where the old tank was. The team got to work, digging up the driveway to access the septic tank and creating a hole to accommodate the new treatment plant. With the tank in place and securely backfilled, we installed the necessary pipework and concreted everything in to ensure it was solid.

Once the system was connected and running, we restored the site by re-tarmacking the driveway and replanting a holly bush to return the area to its original state. The new sewage treatment plant now manages wastewater to today’s environmental standards and supports phosphate reduction in the River Tone catchment.

The client was pleased with the seamless integration of the system, minimal disruption, and professional site reinstatement.

Hi Naomi, I just wanted to let you know about my experience of getting a new septic tank.
As you might imagine the whole thing was very daunting for me!
Right from the start the whole episode has gone incredibly smoothly  – from Karen, who gave me all the information I needed to reassure me when I felt anxious – to Mark, who was able to show me how smoothly it would all go (while unblocking my septic tank!) to Luke, who reassured me when all the heavy vehicles arrived and began to dig up my drive, and has been here almost every day giving me the confidence to leave everything in his hands!
Jake and Curly, who have done all the heavy work, have been a pleasure to have here – nothing is too much trouble – from digging very large holes to transplanting my holly bush – not really in their remit!
Everyone has been incredibly friendly, polite, efficient and helpful.
I felt it was important that you know that, from my perspective, you have an excellent team working for you.”
